United States Coast Guard Auxiliary

Welcome to Flotilla 39.
I hope you enjoy your visit. Within this website you will find a wealth of information and Links. Recreational  Boating Safety is one of our main missions. Vessel Examinations, Boating Courses, Public Demonstrations are just some of the ways we help teach the public on how to be safe while on the water. Though our main interest is keeping you the boating public safe while on the water, the Auxiliary has many other roles within the Gold Side Coast Guard. Through the Aux/Pal Augmentation program we have many Auxiliarist working side by side with some of the Coast Guards finest.

In times of great importance such as Natural Disasters or Homeland Security Issues, the Auxiliary is a Coast Guard force doubler and can be there when called. We are
Semper Paratas (Always Ready)
The list of things an Auxiliarist can do is very long and rewarding. One day you may be helping to teach a boating class. The next day you may be doing vessel exams down at the ramp. The next you could be on patrol in the air or on the water and be part of a search and rescue team, helping someone when they are in need.
As an Auxiliarist you can work closely with the Coast Guard Academy in the (AIM) Academy Introduction Mission program. Whether it is Recruiting, Operations or Recreational Boating Safety, the Auxiliary has something for  everyone.
Since 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina the role of the Auxiliary has been expanded and is now being relied upon more than ever. Thats why we are always on the lookout for that special someone ready to make the commitment of an Auxiliarist. Honor, Respect and Devotion to Duty the badge every Auxiliarist wears - with Pride.
Sincerely
Theodore A. Rehwinkle
